E-mail use requires an account with an e-mail provider. A data plan for mobile internet is recommended.


Make sure that you have the following data:

  • POP3 server address (to receive e-mail)
  • POP3 username (usually your e-mail address)
  • POP3 password

  • Go to the Start screen.
  • Choose the envelope symbol.

  • If this screen appears, choose More. Choose Settings and then Add account.
  • If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.

  • Choose Others.

  • Choose Email address and enter [[sp_email_address]]
  • Choose Password and enter [[sp_email_password]]

  • Choose SIGN IN.

  • Choose POP3.

  • Under Username, enter [[sp_email_username]]
  • Under Password, enter [[sp_email_password]]
  • Under Server, enter [[sp_email_pop]]

  • Scroll down.
  • Under Port, enter [[sp_email_popport]]
  • Under Security type, choose [[sp_email_sectype]].
  • Note: after you have chosen a Security type, the value under Port can change. Make sure that [[sp_email_popport]] has been entered under Port.

  • Under Delete email from server, choose an option.

  • Choose NEXT.
  • The information will be verified.
  • If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose NEXT.

  • Under SMTP server, enter [[sp_email_smtp]]
  • Under Port, enter [[sp_email_smtpport]]

  • Scroll down.
  • Under Security type, choose [[sp_email_smtp_sectype]].
  • Note: after you have chosen a Security type, the value under Port can change. Make sure that [[sp_email_smtpport]] has been entered under Port.

  • If Require sign-in is unticked, tick Require sign-in.
  • If Require sign-in is ticked, go to the next step.

  • Under Username, enter [[sp_email_smtp_username]]
  • Under Password, enter [[sp_email_smtp_password]]

  • Choose NEXT.
  • The information will be verified.
  • If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose NEXT.

  • Under Sync frequency, choose an option.
  • Optional: untick one or more options.
  • Choose NEXT.

  • The e-mail account has been configured and is ready for use.
  • Return to the Start screen.

  • Start screen.
  • Switch off the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and restart it in order to activate the settings.
  • E-mail setup successful? Proceed with sending e-mails.
