Motorola Moto G - Email - Manual configuration POP3 with SMTP verification - Step 1

E-mail use requires an account with an e-mail provider. A data plan for mobile internet is recommended.

Make sure that you have the following data:

* POP3 server address (to receive e-mail) * POP3 username (usually your e-mail address) * POP3 password

* Go to the Start screen. * Choose the menu symbol.

* Choose *E-mail*.

* If this screen appears, choose the options symbol. Choose *Settings* and then *ADD ACCOUNT*. * If this screen does not appear, go to the next step.

* Choose *E-mail adress* and enter [[sp_email_address]]. * Choose *Password* and enter [[sp_email_password]].

* Choose *Manual setup*.

* Choose *POP3*.

* Under *Username*, enter [[sp_email_username]]. * Under *Password*, enter [[sp_email_password]]. * Under *Server*, enter [[sp_email_pop]].

* Scroll down. * Under *Port*, enter [[sp_email_popport]]. * Under *Security type*, choose [[sp_email_sectype]]. * Note: after you have chosen a *Security type*, the value of *Port* can change. Make sure that [[sp_email_popport]] has been entered under *Port*.

* Under *Delete email from server*, choose an option. * Choose *Next*.

* The information will be verified. * If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose *Next*.

* Under *SMTP server*, enter [[sp_email_smtp]]. * Under *Port*, enter [[sp_email_smtpport]]. * Under *Security type*, choose [[sp_email_smtp_sectype]]. * Note: after you have chosen a *Security type*, the value of *Port* can change. Make sure that [[sp_email_smtpport]] has been entered under *Port*.

* Scroll down. * If *Require sign-in* is unticked, tick *Require sign-in*. * If *Require sign-in* is ticked, go to the next step.

* Under *Username*, enter [[sp_email_smtp_username]]. * Under *Password*, enter [[sp_email_smtp_password]]. * Choose *Next*.

* The information will be verified. * If an error message is displayed, verify the settings and choose *Next*.

* Under *Inbox check frequency*, choose an option. * Optional: untick one or more options. * Choose *Next*.

* Under *Give this account a name(optional)*, enter [[sp_email_name]]. * Under *Your name (displayed on outgoing messages*, enter your name. * Choose *Next*.

* The e-mail account has been configured, and is ready for use. * Return to the Start screen.

* Start screen. * Switch off the Motorola Moto G and restart it in order to activate the settings. * E-mail setup successful? Proceed with sending e-mails. * If you have any questions or problems, see e-mail problem solving.
